Did You Know Some Gym Equipment Needs to be Bolted?

One thing that a lot of designers, and frankly a lot of clients, don't think about is that some fitness equipment requires bolting into the wall or the floor.

When you look at the commercial chem equipment you'll notice all of it is required to have the ability to bolt it into the floor. It's not that they always do, but you can always tell commercial pizza equipment because it can be bolted in.

That's for the liability purposes. There have been some absolutely fantastically huge lawsuits when somebody misuses a piece of equipment for stretching or to lean on it or not secure it TRX band on it, and it pulls the equipment over.

However, there are storage units, and some other bay units that are actually built to be bolted into the wall or to the floor. And they're not stable without that.

And this doesn't even include one of the connected gyms that mounts right to the wall, but requires 32 lag bolts in two studs, which requires you to actually replace the studs if you ever want to move it because you've destroyed the structural integrity of them.

It's one of the reasons that we recommend getting ConnectFit involved as early as possible when you're designing your fitness space. Making sure that the equipment is placed in such a way that if it does require bolding, you've got the right blocking in the wall or the right surface on the floor.  We've done it for decades, and we'll set you up for success.
