Fitness Flooring Makes All The Difference

It's amazing how many of our room design projects start with flooring. I guess it kind of makes sense that starting with the foundation is the way to start the project. But there are so many facets of room design that actually start with the flooring.

Not to date myself, but I've been designing fitness spaces for about 25 years. And for quite a while, fitness flooring was very basic. It was all 6 or 8 mm hard rubber, normally black with some kind of speckles on it. And it was 8 mm of hard rubber, a little bit of give, and it protected for sound a little bit. Then came stacked flooring, and everything changed.

There are a lot more options now. By far our most popular option and the biggest change has come with Ecore's stacked flooring, their patented procedure of vulcanizing a top layer of hard product onto an underlay of much softer much more absorbent product. This is over 70% of our flooring sales today because when people compare the old hard rubber to the new stacked floors there is no comparison after you've stepped on both and felt both.  The new stacked flooring is over 3 times as vibration and sound absorbent.  Your floor acts as a speaker and transmits sounds through the house...Ecore's stacked flooring muffles it!

Ecore also has other stacked options, like their bounce option with a laminate on top, and their new Ebb and Flow options, which are amazing looking and much more design-friendly.

And when you let connect fit design your gym you're getting all this current knowledge, and working with Ecore's preferred dealer in the Northeast. Let us design your fitness space, whether it's a multifamily residence, a corporate gym, or your own dream gym in your home.
