One of the complications that comes up introducing media screens and wireless connectivity into different environments is that most connected fitness equipment is made to work on the older WPA2 systems, and not the newer WPA3 that was released in 2018. Security improvements are constant and so the advent of WPA4 is eventual.

More modern WPA3 routers almost always have the option for what's called mixed mode, or a transitional mode. They give an option of going with WPA3, or a mixed mode that will allow for WPA2 and WPA3 devices to connect. Because most areas have a mixed complement of televisions or computers, etc. that may be older or newer, this mixed mode is critical.
While most commercial areas aren't worried so much about security, obviously some of our office buildings and residences have moved up to WPA3 for the purpose of security. However, it's important to know that most fitness equipment is still made with WPA2 hardware.
Always check with your salesperson about this compatibility. Some of the well-known name brands are still only use WPA2 hardware in their screens. And if you are getting a piece for the long haul, make sure it is WPA3 compatible.
