The Lateral-X...Every Gym's Second Piece.

Over the next few months, you're going to hear a million reasons why I'm happy that we are working with True Fitness again.

But they are a company I've known for decades and they also own Octane Fitness now, where I was even *more* involved in product development.

But one of the biggest reasons that they are so important is that Octane/True has the only lateral adjustable elliptical machine on the market.  The Lateral-X.

People ask me all the time when we're designing their fitness spaces what pieces they should get. And the Lateral-X always comes into this equation, I normally suggest it to be the second piece of cardio for any fitness space.
And why?
Because every other piece of cardiovascular equipment in the industry is linear in nature. Every treadmill, every elliptical, every cross trainer, every bike, every rower, all of these pieces work in a linear fashion, and this means that the muscles that are working versus resistance or speed don't change at all and are always in the linear path.

But that's not how we actually work in the real world. We work in three dimensions, and frankly, our injuries often come from not training functionally. So the Lateral-X hits all the muscles in the glutes and the hams and the adductors and abductors as well as around the hips and ankles that don't get worked by any traditional, linear piece of equipment.

Also, we often talk about the importance of adjustability in elliptical machines. And the fact that adjustable stride length and an adjustable motion allows you to fit different size people and hit different muscle groups. This is just as important in the lateral dimension as well, and the lateral x actually has 10 discrete levels of width for a user's motion.  It goes from a stepper motion to a wide skate motion.  Which means you can fit different-sized people as well as hitting the muscles differently for the same user.

And there are specialty programs that adjust the width based on your speed or effort and make postural suggestions and hit different muscle groups in their X mode programming.

So whether you own a fitness studio, a full commercial gym, or are building the ultimate home site, the lateral X hits muscles that no other cardio hits, and completes your workout like no other piece.

Any questions, I'm always right here!
