This Treadmill Leaves Peloton in The Dust.

So I've been doing this for well over 20 years, and I've done quite a bit of consulting in that time, especially recently. So when I saw the Bowflex 22 treadmill, I was thinking that that particular combination of features was going to be at least 4,500 to $5,000.

And just a quick spoiler, this treadmill is something we sell for $2700, and it is far superior to the Peloton treadmill. Hands down, no doubt whatsoever, better in every phase.

This is a 325 lb running machine with an orthopedic running belt. And unlike most connected treadmills, with their pathetic one and two-year parts warranties, this machine has 15 years on the frame and motor, a 5-year warranty on the parts, and 2 years on the labor. So it actually has a warranty more in line with a real treadmill, unlike most connected versions.

Secondly, the treadmill has 5° of decline and a massive 20° of incline. Most average treadmills have 15° of incline, and the Peloton only has 12. So a runner can practice actual outdoor environments with the decline, or get some real high-calorie-burning hiking with the high incline. That's something we normally don't see on even our more expensive treadmills in the $6,000 and $7,000 range, let alone at less than half that price. They even have and adjustable screen for different height users.

And then there's the question of the content itself. The Bowflex 22 treadmill has a big 22-in screen with a nice Android operating system. But it has a lot of different content options. Unlike almost all connected brands it has streaming entertainment, so you can watch Disney or Hulu or Netflix or listen to different types of music streaming on it. Most connected brands want you to use their content and nothing else, so this is a welcome change for the person who wants to watch YouTube or watch a movie.

And while the Bowflex 22 treadmill has some of the typical trainer videos and exploring the world videos, the real centerpiece of their content platform is their adaptive workouts, with an artificial intelligence engine built into the back-end of their app that literally learns from your behaviors and serves up workouts based on what you want to get out of the machine.

This is no joke, and it's one of those reasons that I really feel that even though Peloton and IFIT deserve the kudos they get, BowFlex has really put their money where their mouth is with workouts that literally are based on your behaviors and your goals. More than any other content company, they personalize your experience, instead of you having to search through thousands of similar workouts.

And this is definitely one of those places that I feel 100% confident that if you put a hundred treadmill users on a Peloton treadmill and a Bowflex 22, and blind tested what they both feel like, what the capabilities are, what the warranties are, and then had them use both sets of content for a month, something in the range of 95% of the users would choose the treadmill with the better durability, the longer warranty, the better incline capability, the ability to stream different types of content, and the ability to adapt the workouts to the user's behavior.

But you don't need to just take my word for it, you can come into a connect fit showroom And try it for yourself.  Make an appointment here, drop us a line, or come in and see us!
