There's a big difference between the expertise of actual gym design, and everything that goes into it, and somebody who's just selling equipment.
Don't get me wrong, a huge part of our business is understanding, at a deep level, what makes different fitness equipment the right choice for a person or a business. There's decades of experience in that.
But when we talk about actual gym design, well, I've put synthetic ice in some of these spaces, to create an actual rink for hockey players to practice on. We've done that in facilities and in basements (and a big thank you to Mark at the Home Maint. Organization, there!).
And we've partnered with one of the top manufacturers of climbing walls, because we started putting climbing walls into some of these spaces as well (though not at the same time). And I do have to tell you that a climbing or bouldering wall can take up nearly zero space but really adds a lot on, both in terms of the look and feel, and the experience.
It is also a super popular new sport, and with kids, it is hard to beat. We have to keep kids out of the gym, but the climbing walls are great for them.

It's also understanding the difference between old-style, hard rubber flooring and the newer-style, stacked flooring that is so much safer and more shock-absorbent. Old black hard rubber just doesn't hold a candle. Unless you like the smell of tires, I suppose.
And of course, unlike department stores or national chains, our expertise islocal, with local partners. Over a thousand trainers and therapists work with us,and over 700 design and build experts do. Because we are there for the long run, with our own service department, to build clients.
