The Process and Result

When you work with as many builders and true artistic professionals as I do, you get to build some pretty amazing gyms.

Some of these are corporate or high-end multifamily, Like One Charles in Boston, but a lot of these are also high-end residential specialty gyms.  And to drop the modesty for a moment, I've created hundreds of gyms at the that stratified, highest level.

And we've been so busy with it that I barely ever have time to post much about some of these jobs. But there have been some really amazing spaces we've put together recently.  I am quite proud of the recent work.

It's also funny how much of our work is lately on vacation or second homes. Lots done on the Cape and the Islands, but also up in Maine. And one of my most favorite spaces recently was in Newport on Bellevue avenue. It's not because it was the biggest, or the most expensive. Some of it is actually minimalist, and the use of space and light and color were critical. And we did some pretty fancy work with Ecore flooring to create some matted spaces for specific workout areas to absorb the sound and vibration.

Mirror placement and segmenting the space for cardio and efficient and comfortable strength use was also critical.  Setting up for the electrical needs of the cardio equipment needs to be done pretty early on if you don't want cords everywhere.

But the point of this particular blog post is that really good builders and designers are artists. They can take an ordinary space and maximize it and bring out something special, or they can take your dreams of an extraordinary space and make it even more amazing.  And it starts from the very beginning.  With the ideas and visions of the users, and this space really reflected the vision of the owner.

That's what we do at ConnectFit. When it comes to the niche space of the fitness and wellness rooms, we understand more about the flooring, the flow, and especially the changing world of fitness equipment how to future proof your space.

Anyone can put up a website, drop ship some equipment, put in some crappy black mats or cheap flooring, and pretend to be a gym designer. Newport OG 2

But they won't have the history, the knowledge, the dozens of brand partners, and especially the local touch and commitment to create a relationship.  They are trying to make a sale, not make a client.
Because we also do in-house service and delivery,  become our clients for decades. I'll tell you that getting a 700 lb treadmill down a tight stairwell takes expertise.
